The Chamber Philharmonic Europe was founded in 2006 in Cologne, Germany. It engages the most talented young musicians from 18 European nations. The orchestra has made extensive tours to Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Great Britain and Ireland.In the 2014/15 season they performed over 50 concerts Europe-wide with a repertoire from the Baroque and Classical eras

Julian studied at the Royal College of Music. Principal teachers were John Barstow & Humphrey Searle. On graduating with the Sarah Mundlak Piano Prize in 1968 he took up a music scholarship at Queen's College, Oxford. He Is also a founder member of the NYJO. National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Shirley Smart is one of the UK’s most versatile and creative cellists – being equally at home and well versed in classical, jazz and Middle Eastern music. Originally trained in classical cello under Raphael Wallfisch at the Guilldhall School of Music, and Janos Starker in Paris. She subsequently moved to Jerusalem, where she remained for 10 years studying and performing a wide variety of world music from the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern region, as well as being highly involved with the jazz & improvised music scene. Since returning to the UK, she has quickly became known as on of the most creative cellists on the music scene who has worked with many leading jazz and world music artists.
